Both players managed to break each other once in the opening 10 games of the third set to level the proceedings at 5-5. After 1 hour and 30 minutes of play Janko found himself two sets to love down and it appeared as if the Frenchmen was going to cause a massive upset. However Janko refused to step down as he broke his opponent twice to overcome the Frenchmen and to secure third set with a 6-2 scoreline. The 25-year-old Serbian maintained his dominance into the fourth set as he secured an early break which in turn forced the match to a fifth and decisive set. In the fifth and final set Janko converted two break points and won 93 percent of points on his first serve to secure the match win with a 6-2 scoreline.
